#TIS2000 GM 03 2008 SERIAL#
It may be possible to use the software over a simulated serial port such as a USB to serial adapter, but results are hit or miss. Similarly, all Tech 2 software is intended to be used over a physical serial ("COM") port. Broadly speaking, you will probably have good luck with a 32-bit version of Windows 7 and every step you move away from that OS towards current it's going to be more difficult. It may be possible to use the software using another OS, but results are hit or miss. Here are some instructions I wrote for installing and setting up the TISs:Īll of the Tech 2 software is intended to work with Windows XP Professional, 32-bit. You need only check the COM port Windows assigns it in Device Manager and provide that port to whichever TIS you're using. If you need a USB to serial adapter, use the Tripp Lite USA-19HS - it works every time. If you find that source (which I am not allowed to share) you will also find a version of GlobalTIS that includes a 100% reliable crack.

There is a better version available that includes a crack that works perfectly every time. XP is the safer bet there, though it will run on up to 7 with enough work.ĭo not mess around with the version of TIS2000 supplied with your clone Tech 2. GlobalTIS is a bit more of a pain, since it runs in a web browser and requires and old version of Java to work right. There are some special but minor hoops you gotta jump through on Vista and later - but it's doable.
